A bit about Dan

Dan grew up in rural New Zealand – a classic Kiwi farm kid who spent as much time in the hills as he did on the sports field. Most spare days were (and still are) spent in the mountains hunting alongside his twin brother, building a lifelong respect for New Zealand’s back country and the wildlife that lives in it.

Dan headed to Australia to complete an aeronautical engineering apprenticeship, specialising in helicopters. That kicked off a career spent pulling machines apart, putting them back together and keeping them safe in demanding environments.

Keen to stay on the tools while seeing more of the world, he moved into marine engineering and superyachts, completing his Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) ticket.

Now back in Aotearoa, Dan brings that mix of aviation and marine engineering into the UAV industry.

Detail-obsessed, safety-driven and most at home in the mountains, he’s as comfortable with a spanner in hand as he is behind the UAV controls.
